CLOSE FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

November 16, 2007 – All City of Midland offices will close on November 22 and 23 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Residents with Thursday collections should place refuse and recycling at the curb on Wednesday, November 21. Friday collections will be made on Monday, November 26. Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 8:00 a.m. to ensure that items are collected.

The Sanitary Landfill will close Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 23. The landfill will be open Saturday, November 24, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. These will be the last Saturday morning landfill hours until March 2008.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will close Thanksgiving Day. The library will close early, at 5:00 p.m., on both Wednesday, November 21 and Friday, November 23. The library will maintain regular hours for the rest of the weekend.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation System will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, but will be open Friday, November 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Phone service will be available from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the last pickup at 5:30 p.m. DART will maintain normal Saturday and Sunday hours.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 23, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
