CITY NOW ACCEPTING SELECT CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS
March 14, 2008 – Effective immediately, the City of Midland Treasurer’s Office will accept select credit and debit cards for most City bills.
For nearly a year, citizens have
been able to pay their City of Midland water bills and parking tickets online
using VISA or MasterCard, or debit cards with the VISA or MasterCard logo on
them. Now, citizens can use these cards
to make payments at the Treasurer’s Office for a variety of City services and
items:
Payments may be made at the City
Treasurer’s Office only. The office is located
on the first floor of City Hall.
Due to the potentially high costs
to conduct transactions, the City is unable to accept credit or debit cards for
property tax payments. However, citizens
can opt to have their taxes paid electronically through the City’s Auto-Pay
program. This free service allows
property owners to have funds automatically withdrawn from their checking or
savings
bank account on the date that taxes are due. Visit the City’s website or stop by the
Treasurer’s Office for a program enrollment form.
The
City will continue to accept checks or cash for all City service/item payments.
Contact the City Treasurer’s Office at 989-837-3315 with any questions, or visit the City’s website (www.midland-mi.org).
