NOVEMBER 16 MARKS THE START OF
FINAL ROUND OF FALL LEAF COLLECTION

November 12, 2009 – The City of Midland Department of Public Services (DPS) will begin its final round of fall leaf collection on Monday, November 16.

Collection crews will begin in Area B and then proceed through areas C, D and A.

Residents can track the progress of collection crews by calling the Leaf Collection Hotline at 989-837-3405, watching the MGTV-5 message board, or visiting the City of Midland website (www.midland-mi.org).

Once each area is finished with its final round of collection, street sweepers will come through to clean up the streets, weather permitting.  Please avoid parking on streets while crews and sweepers are working in your area, and do not put any leaves in the street once collection is complete.

Residents with leaves remaining after the final collection should place them into kraft paper yard waste bags or bins for their scheduled refuse collection day.  The 25-cent per bag stickers are not required through the end of the yard waste collection season.

Due to possible freezing temperatures, yard waste in yard bins may freeze, hampering their removal by collection crews.  Keeping bins in the garage until collection day will help resolve this problem.
