September 11, 2009 – The Midland Police and Fire departments are teaming up to offer a new service that uses the latest technology to deliver important and timely information to residents in the area.
Midland residents are invited to check out Nixle, a service that alerts citizens to public safety threats, emergencies, and community events via the web, e-mail, and cell phone. This trustworthy and important neighborhood-level service will allow Midland Police and Fire to communicate with the public more effectively using today’s technology.
Items of interest to the public will be delivered in a timely manner to community members who sign up for the service. Citizens may register at www.nixle.com. Subscribers have the option of being alerted via the Internet, their e-mail address, or cell phone.
