PLAY TENNIS,
April 30, 2010 – Utilizing
funds received from the community’s recent Best Tennis Town national award, the
Midland Parks and Recreation Department and Midland Community Tennis Center are
teaming up to offer a new program – Play Tennis Midland – plus tennis lessons
this summer.
Play Tennis Midland
From June 22 - September 2, free coaching, instruction, and use of tennis equipment will be provided for both juniors and adults on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m., at the Central Park outdoor tennis courts, 410 E. Nelson St. (weather permitting). Juniors under the age of nine must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, contact Mike Woody at 989-631-6151 or woody@midlandtennis.com.
Tennis Lessons
In cooperation with the Tennis Center, Midland Parks and Recreation will offer classes for beginners and experienced tennis players. Programs will include age-appropriate and skill-based instruction. Equipment will be provided; however, students must provide their own tennis shoes.
Three four-week sessions will be offered between the following dates (call Parks and Recreation for specific days and times):
