Below is the 2010 fee schedule for collection from yard waste bins:
Any kraft paper compost bags placed at the curb with or without the yard waste bin will also require a $.35 sticker. The yard waste bag collection sticker has increased from $.25 to $.35 per bag.
Residents that have yard waste bag stickers from previous years may continue to use them in 2010.
Yard Waste Collection
Season/Three Free: The 2010 yard
waste collection season begins March 29 in conjunction with the City of
Midland’s Three Free program. During the
first three weeks of yard waste collection – March 29-April 16 – residents
can dispose of yard waste in kraft paper compost bags
or yard waste bins without attaching the collection sticker.
As a reminder, residents should not rake their yard waste into the street or outlawn for collection. Curbside leaf collection service is only provided in the fall.
Yard waste is collected curbside, on the same day as residential refuse, in kraft paper compost bags or 95-gallon yard waste bins purchased from the City of Midland. Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, and small twigs and branches. Yard waste should not be
set out earlier than 6 p.m. on the day preceding collection and no later than 7:30 a.m. on collection day.
Thirty-gallon kraft paper compost bags and the $.35 collection stickers used for them are available at most local retailers carrying lawn and garden accessories. Beginning April 19, each bag must have a $.35 City collection sticker attached, and each blue bin will be required to have a 2010 collection sticker.
Residents may purchase the 95-gallon yard waste bins through the City for $65 each.
