ONLINE UTILITY PAYMENT SYSTEM AND BUILDING PERMIT PROCESSING UNAVAILABLE FOR FIVE DAYS

 

December 22, 2011 From Thursday, January 5 at 3:00 p.m. until Tuesday morning, January 10, online payment of City of Midland water/sewer bills and processing of building permits will be unavailable while the City transitions to a new software platform.

 

While the online payment feature is down, customers may make water/sewer bill payments in person with cash, check, money order, VISA, or MasterCard between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, at the City Treasurer’s Office, 333 W. Ellsworth St.  Payments may also be mailed to the Treasurer’s Office in the form of check or money order (please refrain from mailing cash). Customers who pay their water/sewer bills via AutoPay – the City’s direct bank account transfer program – should see no change in service during this time. 

 

Building permits generated through the new software system will also not be issued over the five-day downtime.

 

After the new payment software is in place, citizens will notice a new online payment website that requires a new water/sewer account number and the last name on their water/sewer bill. Customers in the City’s current (Cycle 3-brown) water/sewer billing cycle who use the online payment system and haven’t paid their January bill by January 5 should call the Water Billing Office for new login information.  Customers in the remaining two billing cycles – Cycle 1-red and Cycle 2-green – will find their new login information on their next bill.

 

The new system will accept VISA and MasterCard.  Electronic checks will no longer be accepted.
