MIDLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT AUCTION SET FOR MAY 5

April 27, 2012 – The City of Midland Police Department will hold its annual bike auction on Saturday, May 5 at the Municipal Service Center, 4811 N. Saginaw Rd.  The doors open at 9:30 a.m. and bidding begins at 10:00 a.m.

Approximately 60 bikes of various makes, colors and sizes will be auctioned off.  Other unclaimed personal property as well as surplus items from various City departments will also be on the auction block.

A list of auction items can be accessed on the Purchasing Department portion of the City of Midland website (www.midland-mi.org).

Many of the items included in the auction had been abandoned and were recovered by the Midland City Police Department.  Law enforcement officials attempt to identify such items with stolen property reports.  If the owners of the items cannot be identified, or owners do not claim the materials, the items are put up for auction after being held by the Police Department for six months.

Revenue generated from the auction becomes part of the City of Midland General Fund and other appropriate City funds.

Items will be sold for cash or personal check only.  No credit cards will be accepted.
