2012 HOUSEHOLD
HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION DATES ANNOUNCED
March 23, 2012 – The City of Midland Sanitary Landfill has scheduled four household
hazardous waste collection dates for 2012.
Disposal dates are as follows:
On these dates, Midland County residents may dispose of household items that are considered hazardous,
such as chemicals, oil-based paints and stains, pesticides, insecticides,
household cleaning products, certain auto products, mercury, and medicines.
To take advantage of this free service at
the Landfill, schedule an appointment with the Midland County
Health Department (989-832-6681). Be prepared to indicate the type and amount of
materials you wish to drop off.
Only residents with appointments will be
allowed to drop off materials.
Electronic items such as cell phones, computers, computer screens,
TVs, and other electronic devices that may contain mercury, plus old
thermometers and fluorescent light bulbs, will no
longer be accepted at the Landfill. Citizens with these items may contact other
local sources, such as Goodwill Industries.
