May 11, 2012 – City of Midland cars, trucks, and other commercial items
and equipment previously sold at an annual “live” auction each fall will now be
sold throughout the year utilizing an online auction service.
The City has chosen the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network
Surplus Auction service to dispose of excess items that are no longer needed. Vehicles of various makes and models will be
auctioned off in addition to items such as shop equipment and auto parts. The online service will allow the City to more
effectively notify vendors of bidding opportunities, while increasing
efficiency and lowering City costs through shared resources.
For a
list of auction items from the City of Midland and more than 90 other Michigan
governmental agencies, go to www.mitn.info
and choose “SURPLUS AUCTION” from the title bar. Registered bidders can choose to be notified
by e-mail when items in over 35 categories are listed for auction.
Terms
of sale may vary and will be part of each item listing.
Revenue generated from the auction
will become part of the City of Midland General Fund and Equipment Revolving
Fund.
