WORK ON NEW
NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE DRIVE STARTING MONDAY
October 12, 2012 – Work on the new Northwood entrance drive is scheduled
to begin on Monday, October 15. During
the project, traffic on Main Street and Cook Road will be reduced to one lane
to accommodate construction of storm sewers for the new street intersection.
Construction at the intersection is expected to be completed by the end
of the business day on Tuesday, October 16.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes around the area to
avoid congestion and delays.
Also beginning Monday, October 15, those using the Pere
Marquette Rail-Trail are asked to watch for equipment crossing the trail during
the street construction project. The rail-trail will remain open to
pedestrian traffic during the project with temporary gravel walkways available to
route pedestrians around the work area. Bicyclists and those on roller
blades will need to use extreme caution when traversing the temporary
walkways.
It is anticipated that street work will be completed by late November.
