CITY’S “THREE FREE” PROGRAM BEGINS MONDAY, MARCH 26

March 13, 2012 – To coincide with the start of the spring yard waste collection season, the City of Midland’s popular Three Free program begins Monday, March 26.  During these three weeks set for March 26 - April 13 – residents may dispose of yard waste in kraft paper compost bags or yard waste bins without the City’s collection stickers.

Effective April 16, yard waste bins and compost bags will require stickers.

As a reminder, residents should not rake their yard waste into the street for collection.  Street leaf collection service is only provided in the fall.

Yard waste is collected curbside, on the same day as residential refuse, in kraft paper compost bags and/or 95-gallon, blue yard waste bins purchased from the City of Midland.  Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, and small twigs and branches.

Yard waste should not be set out earlier than 6 p.m. on the day preceding collection and no later than 7:30 a.m. on collection day.
