CITY OF MIDLAND CLOSINGS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAYS

 

December 13, 2013 – All City of Midland offices will close Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25 in recognition of the Christmas holiday and Wednesday, January 1 in recognition of the New Year's holiday.

 

Residents with Tuesday, December 24 refuse and Week 4 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Monday, December 23.  Residents with Wednesday, December 25 refuse and Week 4 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Thursday, December 26.  Residents with Wednesday, January 1 refuse collection should place items at the curb on Thursday, January 2.  Place items at the curb no later than 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

 

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, as well as 8:30 a.m. – Noon on Saturdays, December 28 and January 4.

 

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Wednesday, January 1.  The Library will close at 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 31.

 

Dial-A-Ride Transportation service (DART) will be closed Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Wednesday, January 1.  DART will operate normal service hours December 26 – 30.  DART will provide bus service Tuesday, December 31 from 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

 

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Wednesday, January 1.

 

The Midland Civic Arena will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25.  Go to www.midlandcivicarena.com for the complete holiday public skating schedule.

 

Midland City Forest will be closed Christmas Day.  Go to www.midland-mi.org/recreation for updates on when the Chalet will be open for toboggan, ski, and skate rentals, and for weather conditions relating to other outdoor activities.
