NEW CRIME MAPPING
TOOL AVAILABLE TO MIDLAND CITIZENS
March 22, 2013 – The City of Midland Police
Department is pleased to announce Interactive Crime Mapping, a new way for the
public to stay informed about crime in their neighborhoods and the community as
a whole.
Through the new mapping program, citizens are able
to search recent and historic crime activity by type, date range, or geographic
area. With just one click, they can get
more detailed information regarding incidents within Midland’s city
limits. The program also allows users to
locate and track local crime trends.
And, coming soon, citizens will be able to track traffic citations.
“This program will provide our
citizens with valuable information about crime trends in our community,” said Chief
of Police Cliff Block. “The information will assist in reducing crime and
encourage a more informed and watchful citizenry that works with law
enforcement to keep our community safe.”
The map can be found at gis6.midland-mi.org/police/default.htm.
